You need to escape a military star system. You have to fight, arcade style, through procedurally generated star systems with randomly generated weapons, enemies, and bosses. The latest AI techniques, (reinforcement learning and neural networks,) are used to create ever more difficult levels and enemies. If you die, the game is over. Speed is paramount.
Mine resources and strip enemies you defeat, (if you have time,) to upgrade your ship. Be careful, some upgrades may slow the ship down, or consume too much energy. With careful upgrades, your ship can turn into a lumbering tank, able to dispatch swaths of enemies with little to no effort.
Perhaps stealth is more your style, rather than speed or force. Hide in the shadows, and/or strip the stealth systems from an enemy fighter. You can sneak through star systems by disabling ships and assassinating pilots with carefully targeted blaster shots.
